Centrally located at 621 West Street, our department's mission is to protect and serve the citizens and visitors of Madison with the highest professional standards. The Madison Police Department is currently comprised of 27 sworn officers, and is constantly growing in our Patrol Division, Emergency Response Team, Training Unit, Bike and Foot Patrols, and Detective Division.

You can report suspicious activity and concerns by phone (812) 265-2121, email tips@madisonmpd.com, or on our online tip portal at madison-in.gov/reporting. Reports can include information regarding crime, wanted persons, abandoned vehicles, parking violations, zoning-related issues or any non-emergency issue. Tips can be made anonymously, but the MPD reserves the right to contact you to verify or clarify the information you report.
