MADISON PARKS AND RECREATION CONTINUES PARTNERSHIP WITH BETHANY LEGACY FOUNDATION AND JANE’S KIDS TO ENSURE CRYSTAL BEACH IS ACCESSIBLE TO ALL

Madison, Indiana (May 23, 2025) –The City of Madison Parks and Recreation is proud to announce the return of a meaningful partnership that ensures every family in Jefferson County, Indiana, has the opportunity to enjoy a summer of fun at Crystal Beach Aquatic Park. Now in its second year, this initiative continues thanks to the support of Jane’s Kids (River Valley Resources) and Bethany Legacy Foundation (BLF).

Through this continued partnership, families and individuals in need will have access to free day passes to Crystal Beach Aquatic Park, helping to eliminate financial barriers that may otherwise prevent them from enjoying the pool and other water activities. Regardless of their financial situation, the goal remains the same: to ensure everyone has the opportunity to make lasting summer memories at Crystal Beach.

To apply, families and individuals in need should visit River Valley Resources at 100 E. 2nd Street, Madison, IN, between the hours of 8 AM and 1:30 PM, to complete a brief application.

  • Families facing financial hardship, with at least one child in the household, will be directed to apply to the Jane’s Kids program first. This provides free day passes to Crystal Beach for children. SNAP or WIC enrollment is not required for this portion of the program.
  • Families and individuals who qualify for SNAP or WIC will be directed to apply for passes funded by Bethany Legacy Foundation. These passes are valid for 20 visits to Crystal Beach throughout the summer. Additional benefits may be available for qualifying families and individuals, including access to swimming lessons, water fitness, and more. This program is available to the first 425 qualifying individuals.

“Joy, connection, and belonging shouldn’t have a price tag. Through this partnership, we are not just offering access – we’re investing in childhoods, in memories, and the belief that every family deserves to feel welcome, included and uplifted in the heart of our community, Dora Anim, Bethany Legacy Foundation President and CEO.

Mayor Bob Courtney added, “This program is a perfect example of what happens when community partners come together with a shared mission. We're proud to continue removing barriers so all families can enjoy everything Crystal Beach has to offer.”
