  3. Young Writers Workshop

    Creative writing guided by Dominique Battles of Hanover College. This program is for kids in 4th, 5th, or 6th grade. The program is ongoing and meets on Tuesdays.     Cherie Rike will teach the basics of quilting. Students will make a simple lap or baby quilt from a selection of patterns provided by the instructor. Supply list will be determined at Class 1, based on pattern chosen. Topics in October: Class 1: Discussion on quilting supplies, learning about fabric, and selecting a pattern. Students need to bring a portable sewing machine to class; Class 2: Cut your fabric and start to sew; Class 3: Sew quilt blocks; Class 4: Sew your quilt top together; and Class 5: Prepare your quilt to machine quilt. Registration required.
