The Madison Police Department is accepting applications for the position of Patrol Officer. Applications can be picked up at the Madison Police Department, 621 West St. Madison, IN 47250, or downloaded HERE.
The starting salary for a non-academy certified Officer is $49,012. Persons already academy certified will start at $50,012. Upon graduation from the academy and one year of probationary service, the yearly salary is $51,012.
Applicants must be 21 years of age or will turn 21 years of age prior to the next scheduled Indiana Law Enforcement Academy class. The Indiana Public Employees Retirement Fund (PERF) requires that applicants be 36 years of age or younger for eligibility.
Physical ability testing will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 23, 2020, at the Madison Consolidated JR. High School. Physical testing requirements are the current ILEA graduation standards.
