Community Relations

The Community Relations Director position is appointed by the mayor and frequently serves as an outreach liaison for the community. The director helps facilitate communication among different organizations and businesses, as well as between the city and its citizens. The Director of Community Relations acts as the city’s liaison to Madison’s many festivals, committees, non-profits, and other organizations such as Hanover College and Ivy Tech. 

The Director of Community Relations is also responsible for the planning of city events such as, Movies in the Park, the 4th of July Firework Show and Parade, Red, White, & Boo, Light Up Madison, and the Very Merry Madison Christmas Parade. 

It is the responsibility of this office to make sure information is relayed to the residents of Madison through press releases, website updates, and by keeping social media platforms up to date.
