The office of the clerk-treasurer is chiefly responsible for working with the mayor and department heads to manage the $7 million budget of the City of Madison. Careful adherence to accepted record-keeping principles and judicious management of funds have earned the city an unprecedented three consecutive years award for "no-findings" by the Indiana State Board of Accounts auditors.
