Meetings

Meetings of the Common Council
January through December

Meetings held at 5:30 p.m. on the first and third Tuesday of the month at Madison City Hall, 101 W. Main Street. Citizens are welcome to attend.

The Common Council has authority to pass ordinances and resolutions. The members represent the legislative arm of the city government. Click "elected officials" for more information about members of the Common Council.

If you would like to address the Council, please contact Tammy Boldery at (812) 265-8300 to secure a spot on the agenda by the Friday morning preceding the meeting.

Board of Public Works and Safety
January through December

Meetings held at 11:30 a.m. on the same day as the meeting of the Common Council at City Hall.

The Board of Public Works and Safety oversees the daily operations of the city. Members are Mayor Al Huntington, City Attorney Robert Barlow and Council President Jim Lee. Water and sewer bill, traffic and parking issues, etc. can be addressed at this meeting.

  • Port Authority - 2nd Monday at 12:00 p.m. (noon)
  • Tree Board - 1st Wednesday at 6 p.m.
  • Madison Riverfront Development Committee - 1st Monday at 5:30 p.m.
  • Human Relations Commission - as needed
  • Cable Advisory Board - Occasional
