    October 24, 2020, 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM @ Madison Library

    Bring your pet for a walk to the Broadway Fountain and back. Meet in front of the main library, in the grass at Elm and Main Streets. Masks and social distancing are required. Costumes optional. Dogs must be on leashes for the walk. All types of pets are welcome. Please, supervise your pet at all times during the walk. Registration required. Go to: www.mjcpl.org and click on “Events” to register or call the library at 812/265-2744.

  2. Online Drawing and Painting Class

    October 26, 2020, 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM @ ONLINE

    Join Instructor Russell Vossler for a comprehensive series of classes on Mondays, covering method and technique, and focusing on a particular project each week. Each student will need to purchase materials for the class appropriate for either drawing or painting. The focus in October will be on Cartooning. See website for materials lists. Registration required and participants in this pilot program will need to join the Facebook group “JCPL On-line Drawing and Painting Class”. Adult and Young Adult. Instructor Russell Vossler.

  4. Pumpkin Decorating Contest

    October 28, 2020, 10:00 AM - 6:30 PM

    Awards will be given for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in adult and youth categories. Prizes include: Visa, Cocoa Safari and Dairy Queen gift cards. The People’s Choice winners will receive Chamber Cash Cards. Other prizes will be given for the following: Most Creative, Spookiest, and Silliest Pumpkins. Please, click on the October 29th Contest link on the Library’s online events calendar to register. Free. All ages are welcome to participate. Judging will take place on Thursday, October 29th. Photos of all entries will be uploaded to a Facebook album on the 29th. Everyone can view the entries and vote for the People’s Choice Pumpkins on Thursday! All winners will be announced on Friday, October 30th. All pumpkins should be picked up no later than Saturday October 31 by Noon. Rules: One entry per person. Pumpkins must be less than 40" in circumference. Decorate as you like using any type of craft materials. Carving is also permitted.
