City Announces New Online Payment Provider

For Immediate Release

Madison, IN (October 1, 2018) The City of Madison Water/Sewer Office announced that beginning today, the City has partnered with a new payment provider, eGov Strategies, for payment of water bills.

The system is more customer friendly and will allow customers to view their water bills online 24/7, make electronic payments via credit card or debit card. The fee schedule for this service has been reduced to $1.50 or 2.49% of each transaction, whichever is greater. Fees are collected by eGov Strategies; the City does not receive any portion of the service fee. Payments can also continue to be made via mail, in-person, or through automatic ACH transfer, which all remain free for residents.

Residents who had been using the previous online payment company will need to bookmark the new payment link: . Payments can be made without registering, but residents who wish to register will need to create a new account.

The payment system was developed in conjunction with eGov Strategies, an Indianapolis-based provider of payment processing services and web sites to government organizations throughout the U.S. Their system is highly secure, at the highest level per Payment Card Industry standards, and will interface to the City’s web site, making it convenient for users to pay their utility bills.

The City of Madison water office encourages anyone with questions about payment methods to call the Water Office at 812-265-8312. For technical assistance with the payment system, please call eGov Strategies at 877-634-3468.
