  9. Quilting Class at the Madison Library

    Instructor Cherie Rike will teach the basics of quilting, including piecing, quilting and binding techniques in creating a Scrappy French Braid Table Runner, size: 15 1/2" x 51". Supplies to bring: portable sewing machine, 12 assorted fabric scraps wide enough to cut 2 1/2" wide by 18" long, 1 yard solid or small coordinating print fabric for squares, border and binding, backing - 1 yard. Optional supplies to bring if available: rotary cutter, rotary cutting mat, acrylic ruler (6" x 24") Series of five classes. Registration required. Space is limited.

  17. Kid's Knitting 101

    November 30, 4:00 PM @ Madison Public Library

    Youth in third grade and older can learn to knit at the library! Pam Sinsel will teach the basics of knitting; three different cast on methods, knit stitch, purl stitch, how to read a basic pattern, and how to bind off to finish your project. This is a four-week series. Students will learn to knit a dishcloth for their first project. Class size is limited. Registration required. Materials: Size 7 or 8 knitting needles. 100% cotton yarn (Sugar & Cream brand) will be provided. Note: Light or bright colors are recommended.
